Music full of buzzes and crackles and rings and fizzes, often a murky undercurrent overlaid by lighter incidental sounds, sometimes there is a real clarity that allows you to hear right through the music and out the other side. It is constantly changing, a mass of details, not a lot of them recogniseably instrumental. It makes for a fantastic immersive listen, something to really involve yourself in, sink your ears deep into, either turned up loud or listened to on decent headphones. For me, this is my listening comfort zone, music that pulls you in, wrapping its shapes and textures around you, causing you to lose track of time, forget what is going on around you. Really wonderful, mature improvisation that seethes with activity as it glows with confident cohesion. Magical music, but then you knew I’d say that.
