We now stock items from other labels
What are we stocking?
Initially very very little. There will be a few selected releases by friends of the label, supplied to Cathnor by the musicians themselves. To begin with, there will be a very small handful of CDs. It is hoped that if this initial experiment proves successful, more releases could be added to the list. It should be noted though that the musicians involved have been selected simply because they are friends, and we do not seek any further submissions.
Why are we doing this?
Purely as a favour to friends. Musicians involved at this tiny end of the spectrum do not get paid money when a label releases a CD of their music. Instead, they are 'paid' in artists copies of the final CD, that they can then sell at concerts to try and make a little money. Offering to sell the discs for the musicians through the Cathnor Shop just gives them a further vehicle for recouping a few meagre funds. Cathnor will not make any money at all on these sales and all proceeds will go directly to the musicians.
How do I order?
Just click over to the Shop page, find the discs you like and hit the paypal button. Its as simple as that, and so much more rewarding than visiting Soulseek wouldn't you say?

New website!
21.09.11
Finally we are proud to bring you the third incarnation of the Cathnor Recordings website. Designed by Cathnor's resident designer, the eager and yet somehow ridiclously unproductive Olaf Oxleay, this new site brings you a range of dazzling new features;
- The design is simpler, cleaner and more easy to navigate (we hope so anyway)
- There are more flashy little things to click on, so more text is hidden, until you want to read it.
- There's a new Contact form, making it easier to get in touch with us. If it works...
- There are now many reviews added to the release pages.
- It just looks nicer! We think so anyway. Your feedback is very welcome.
Forthcoming Releases
21.09.11
Several new releases are in the works. The first of two of these include a new solo release named ∩ by the French saxophonist and composer Marc Baron. We were very impressed by Marc's releases during 2010 and so were delighted to have the opportunity to release this new work, which we think will both surprise and intrigue. ∩ will be accompanied by an intriguing disc by the duo of Jean-Luc Guionnet and Claire Bergerault. Expect to be challenged and surprised by that one. More releases are then planned for late in 2011.
